THE BIDEN-HARRIS ADMINISTRATION'S TALENT PIPELINE CHALLENGE FACT SHEET SPOTLIGHTS WOMEN IN AEROSPACE

 

Washington, D.C. – This week, the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) published a fact sheet highlighting Women in Aerospace as part of the Biden-Harris Administration’s Talent Pipeline Challenge, launched on June 17, 2022. Specifically, this fact sheet highlights WIA’s inaugural Allyship Award, to be presented at this year’s Annual Awards Dinner & Ceremony at the Ritz Carlton, Pentagon City in October.

 

“This is a historic initiative for WIA,” said Bridget Chatman, Chair of Women in Aerospace. “The Allyship Award will not only promote WIA’s mission of increasing the visibility and leadership capabilities of all women in the aerospace community, but also honors those who have made such meaningful contributions for equity and inclusion within their own professional careers.”

Aerospace Allyship Award: Women in Aerospace (WIA) will present the first-ever industry Allyship award to an academic, government or industry leader during their October 2022 awards ceremony to a leader who has actively mentored, promoted and aspired to accelerate a culture of inclusion for women in aerospace. The Talent Pipeline Challenge is a nationwide call to action for employers, education and training providers, states, local, Tribal, and territorial governments, and philanthropic organizations to make tangible commitments that support equitable workforce development in three critical infrastructure sectors: Broadband, Construction, and “Electrification” (EV Charging Infrastructure and Battery Manufacturing). The Challenge aims to fill high quality jobs that will help rebuild U.S. infrastructure and supply chains here at home, and continue the transition from a historic economic recovery to stable and steady growth that works for working people. Learn more about the Talent Pipeline Challenge, supporting employer investments in equitable workforce development for infrastructure jobs.
