Looking back on a night of celebration...

On October 10th, the industry gathered at the Ritz-Carlton, Pentagon City in Arlington, VA to celebrate Women in Aerospace's 39th Annual Awards Dinner & Ceremony. We were honored to highlight those who received and presented awards and scholarships for 2024. Each introduction and acceptance speech conveyed the diversity of ways that women are breaking barriers in this field, often with the support of our allies across the industry. We were thrilled to have had so many of you in the room to help commemorate this event.

One of the most inspiring parts of the ceremony was dedicated to the WIA Foundation scholarship winners. These talented young women have shown remarkable passion and dedication to aerospace throughout their academic journeys. We are excited to see the impact they will make in the field, and we are incredibly proud to have played a role in supporting each of their unique paths.

Six incredible individuals were awarded our 2024 top honors. While their careers are diverse, a shared theme among them is their dedication to mentorship, shaping the next generation of women in STEM and aerospace. This year's awardees ranged from two supervisors at JHUAPL, a long-time WIA leader and division head at her company, a Deputy Associate Administrator of NASA, a former Executive Director of the world's largest technical society dedicated to the global aerospace profession, and even a former NASA Astronaut and NOAA Administrator. Each of them has led by example. Our award winners have broken many barriers for women in the STEM field, which, in turn, now serves as a guide to the younger generations.

WIA was also excited to present our Allyship Award for the first time to a male ally. This award highlights any individual (man or woman) who actively promotes and aspires to advance a culture of inclusion for women through purposeful, positive and intentional efforts that benefit women in the aerospace community.

WIA is once again very humbled to acknowledge all of our recipients’ phenomenal achievements. We hope you enjoyed our premier event of the year, and we look forward to seeing you all at next year’s 40th Annual Awards Dinner & Ceremony.
